What Is Skills Based Volunteering?

Skills-based volunteering means leveraging the specialized skills and talents of individuals to strengthen the infrastructure of nonprofits, helping them build and sustain their capacity to successfully achieve their missions.

Is your company looking for a non-profit to team up with to develop a skills based volunteer program for your small to medium business? Skills based volunteering with ASI is a great match for helping your employees volunteer using the skills they possess and build new skills they can bring back to the office. ASI’s mission is to give volunteers the opportunity to expand their participation in programs that assist women, minorities and underrepresented communities.

How Your ASI Can Help Set Up Your Skill Based Volunteering Program?

ASI has a program in place that will easily transition your employees into skilled volunteers by integrating them into our already successful volunteer program. One program we are currently launching in 2019 is the Startup Inclusion program whereby your volunteers could mentor women, minorities, and the underprivileged into building their dream startup. As it stands now only 3% of venture capital goes to women and minorities. ASI is trying to raise that dismal number through the Startup Inclusion program. ASI’s mission is to is to develop or adopt innovative & effective programs that support underrepresented communities including enterprises that serve these communities. Your employees would be a valuable resource toward this goal.

We have more programs launch in 2019 as well.

What Is The Process For Partnering With ASI?

Society’s need has grown, while corporate, government funding has dwindled. Meanwhile, using skilled based volunteering, employees can grow their experience to help service organizations build and sustain their capacity. This joint venture between business and nonprofits, skilled employees can help solve some of the most pressing social issues such as hunger, homelessness, under-education, and more.
